CRIME SCENE: Cops nab Niagara dad in alleged kidnap of kids

A Niagara father who allegedly absconded with his young twin daughters nearly a month ago has been nabbed on the French Atlantic outpost of Saint-Pierre et Miquelon.

Cops say Clayton Misener, 46, is charged with abduction in contravention of custody order and disobey order of the court.

Working with Halifax Police, the RCMP and police on Saint-Pierre et Miquelon, Misener was arrested Wednesday.

His two daughters, Paige and Alexandra Misener, both 12, have been located and are safe. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Niagara Regional Police Service at 905-688-4111, extension 1009964.

Police are hunting for a predator accused of two sexual assaults in the downtown area.

Cops say that on Thursday around 2: 22 p.m., in the Bloor St. W. and St. George St. area a 20-year-old woman was approached by a man who began a conversation. When she tried to leave he sexually assaulted her. Ten minutes later, cops responded to a second sexual assault call in the Bloor St. W. and Avenue Rd. area. A 23-year-old woman was sitting on a bench when a man came and sat beside her and attacked her.

Police are looking for Odainne Trujillo, 25. He is described as six-foot with a slim build, a short dark afro and light growth of beard. He was wearing a dark golf shirt, and blue pants. He is believed to be violent and cops fear there may be other victims.

A man forcibly grabbed a woman by the shoulder in Massey Park in Brampton but she was able to escape.  Cops are hunting a white male, in the mid-’20s, about 5-foot-9, 180 lbs. with a medium build. He had brown eyes, black beard with a mustache, wearing a black hooded top with white insignia on the front, black baseball hat, black jogging pants, black and white sneakers, wearing a blue or white surgical mask. He is “associated” with a black mountain bike.

Hamilton Police have arrested and charged a 52-year-old city man who struck a pedestrian and then fled the scene.

According to cops, on Tuesday around 5: 30 p.m. officers responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV and a pedestrian on Mount Albion Rd. The Hyundai was travelling northbound on Mount Albion when the driver lost control causing the vehicle to mount the sidewalk and hit a pedestrian. The driver then fled on foot. He turned himself in Thursday. The pedestrian remains in critical condition.

Christopher Mulligan is charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm, fail to remain and fail to comply with probation.


Halton Police detectives have made multiple arrests in connection with a Burlington romance scam that targeted seniors. According to cops, in October and November 2020, a senior victim was contacted by a person claiming to be a retired Canadian Army Sergeant (named Darren Michaelson,) and began an online romantic relationship. The victim was suckered into sending $150,000 to a man they believed was the former soldier.

Charged are an Oakville female, 21, a female, 38, from London, and two Toronto men. The group faces a slew of fraud related charges and cops expect further arrests and more victims.
